Stress and Anxiety Workshops

group_therapy1Small doses of stress can be helpful in our daily lives. It can give us the drive we need, in order to motivate us to do our best and remain focused and alert. But when the demands of our lives go beyond our capacity to cope, stress becomes a threat to both our physical and emotional well-being.

CBT Psychology offers a Stress and Anxiety workshop for stress and anxiety problems. We use evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in our workshops, where participants learn and apply strategies to manage their anxiety. The group focuses on the “here and now” experience of stress and anxiety and the daily struggles of living with anxiety. The workshops combine proven psychological methods with practical knowledge to enable individuals to recognize the causes and signs of stress and anxiety; whether it be at home or work, and to help attain lasting relief from the harmful consequences of anxiety and stress. This will allow you to be more in control of your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, thus being more in control of your life.

We accept referrals from your GP, other health care professionals or self-referrals. (Fees for the group may be covered by Work & Income New Zealand in some circumstances.) Programmes can also be tailored to the needs of your organisation or business and can be run in-house.

These workshops are run by qualified clinical psychologists with a number of years experience working with people of all ages who suffer from anxiety and stress, along with other related difficulties.

  • Classes are limited to 12 people
  • Cost of the full workshop is $480, which can either be paid in full or $65 instalments, payable at the beginning of each session
  • Includes an initial one-to-one half hour assessment session with one of our Clinical Psychologists prior to the workshop starting
  • The workshops are held at our offices at 91 Kahikatea Drive in Hamilton
